Derek was a serial killer who was two centuries ago, after killing dozens of people in his town. The people saw death as a merciful and unfit punishment for his crimes, so they placed a curse on him. He would continue his existence living in limbo – a realm between the real world and the afterlife – forever! Derek was buried deep beneath the town. Once every month, Derek is able to regain consciousness for a whole day before he returns into limbo. For so long, Derek accepted this as his fate and comeuppance for all those people he killed, only because he believed there was no way out for him. But recently, he has grown desperate and is using his unlimited time to find a way to break the curse and either pass on to the afterlife, or come back to the realm of the living.
